N9IW Tim Gustafson: Sister Bay, WI

The antennas are at 44, 74 and 116 ft. These heights were chosen based on modeling and the objective was to cover all the take off angles and not have any holes for any of the 5 ham bands!
Each of the log-periodics in the 3 stack are made up of 14 elements on 40 foot booms and cover 13.9 - 30 MHz. The antennas were designed and built by N9IW using EZNEC and YagiStress to optimized performance and survivability. All three antennas use the following DX Engineering components: 3-inch DXE insulated Boom to Element Brackets; DXE Boom to Mast Plates, "which allow the antennas to be directly mounted to the rotating Rohn 55G tower"; DXE Boom Support System Components and DXE Stainless Steel Saddle Clamps. The quality of the DXE components is excellent and the support staff is extremely prompt.
